With AEP quickly approaching, now is the time to review your portfolio to make sure that you have a full suite of carriers and products to offer your clients.

When selling Medicare, it’s important to have a variety of options available so that your aging-in clients will have a choice of what benefits best suit their needs. Below are some of the key features of the carriers that should be in your portfolio.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota

Trusted locally for more than 85 years, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota (BCBS) has been inviting people to Live Fearless by offering a robust portfolio of Medicare products that cover the entire state of Minnesota. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota offers Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Cost Plans, Medicare Supplement Plans & Prescription Drug Plans.

In preparation for the 2020 plan year, Blue Cross has announced an agreement with America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) providing Blue Cross agents with discounted pricing for 2020 Medicare Core training.

2020 Medicare Certification is now open. The Deadline to complete certification is September 15, 2019


UCare has provided health insurance in Minnesota since 1984 and has specialized in Medicare products since 1998. Aetna Coventry / Allina Health | Aetna

Allina Health | Aetna Medicare Advantage plans are available in 12 counties in Minnesota. These plans provide agents with another option for their clients during the upcoming Annual Enrollment Period. With 28 major hospitals and hundreds of clinics in network, Allina Health | Aetna is a great option for your clients. Allina Health | Aetna’s plans also provide simplicity with one ID card for health and Part D, as well as additional benefits such as fitness and access to a best-in-class care management team. Silverscript is now available under Aetna Coventry.

Nationally, Aetna through their Continental Life, American Continental, and Aetna Health & Life Insurance Company subsidiaries, offers Medicare Supplements in most states. You’ll not just see how competitive the rates are, but also how low Continental Life has kept their rate increases relative to other Medicare Supplement carriers. Aetna also offers ancillary health products to cover additional gaps in coverage.
