Better Together: Technology & Insurance Agencies (CE approved)
Technology is a huge influence in the insurance industry and agencies can improve their own operations and growth targets by selecting technology that improves both compliance and sales. Over the last ten years, insure-tech has made a noticeable impact on the insurance industry. Billions of dollars have been invested to either improve the sales process or to improve the administration of insurance policies over time. How an insurance agency selects the pieces of technology that are relevant to their own success is difficult one. This presentation helps them sort through all the options to select and bring in key pieces of technology in order to be prepared for the future.
Medicare Basics and the Cost Plan Transition (CE approved)
Beginning January 1, 2019, Medicare Cost Plans will no longer be available in Minnesota counties where at least two Medicare Advantage plans are available. The Passing of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) in 2015 requires insurance companies to covert Cost Plan offerings to a Medicare Supplement or Advantage Plan by the end of 2018. This change will impact the nearly 400,000 Minnesota seniors on Cost Plans who will need to change to a Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan in the Fall. It is important for agents in Minnesota to better understand the Medicare Basics while considering what the 2019 Medicare product landscape will look like when the cost plans sunset.
Indemnity Solutions: Completing the 360 Degree Approach to Healthcare (CE approved)
The Health insurance arena affects millions of Americans drastically in the last Decade. There has been a movement from the traditional major medical program to High Deductible Health Program. Individuals are facing increasing premiums and more cost sharing. Agents are going to need to understand the tools that are going to be necessary to help the consumers manage their health care risk.
Medicare – The Deeper Dive (CE approved)
Baby Boomers are aging into Medicare at a rate of 10,000 per day and the state of Minnesota has roughly 370,000 seniors that will be coming off Cost Plans and enrolling in something different. Agents have to try and keep up with the changing demographics of the Medicare-eligible population. They need to understand the pros and cons of enrolling Boomers into Medicare or not enrolling in Medicare. How do employer plans fit into the mix and what are group Medicare plans. What happens to their HSA plans once they turn 65? The challenge for Minnesota agents is to have a basic understanding of all types of Medicare options and how one choice may affect the other.
Group Benefits Strategies for Employee Financial Wellness (CE approved)
As costs continue to rise for medical insurance, healthcare, and prescriptions medications it is more important than ever for agents to understand how they can empower their clients to be better consumers. Understanding the concept of total financial wellness and bringing a portfolio approach to the employee benefits package allows for employees to have choice and protects them from risk when they need it most.
