Richard Lett is the CEO of LeClair Group. He believes that paying attention to people and their needs is the key to success. Richard brings a rich history of leadership to LeClair Group, and has a unique understanding of risk management. Richard served for 30 years with the Metropolitan Police in London, otherwise known as Scotland Yard. He was a member of SO14, Royalty Protection Services. He also planned, implemented and delivered major UK and international protection operations, including commanding the VIP Protection Operations for Central London during the 2012 Olympic Games. Richard was made a member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) by Queen Elizabeth II. Shortly after retiring from his first career, Richard followed his American wife to Minnesota, where he has found a second career with LeClair Group. Richard is a member of several industry associations in both the insurance and the security industry.
Director of Training
Michelle Berndt is the Director of Training for OneShare Health. She has over 10 years of public speaking and corporate training experience. Michelle’s team is responsible for training both Members and Producers nationwide. Their focus is simple making sure everyone is educated on the affordable healthcare options available in the marketplace. She works at the OneShare home office in Irving, Texas.
Ellen brings 30 years of experience in delivering technical and professional services to clients in a variety of industries and markets. She joined Forrester from the former ThruPoint, a New York-based professional services firm, where she was a principal consultant focusing on IT service business strategy to Global 100 clients in securities, banking, and insurance; telecommunications; and media and entertainment. Prior to her current research role, Ellen spent eight years providing strategic analysis and advice to Forrester’s insurance digital business strategy clients, focusing on eBusiness strategies, and best practices in digital and customer experience and adoption trends, for property & casualty, life, group, and health insurers. Her research at Forresters focuses on the technology decisions that financial services firms are investing in, including core platforms modernization and replacement and the integration of emerging technologies with legacy systems to drive better digital experiences and improved operational efficiency. Ellen received a B.S. in economics from Southern New Hampshire University.
Chief Technology Officer & Founder
Eric Ebner is the Chief Technology Officer and director of cybersecurity research and development at Protocol 46. Ebner has a background in cybersecurity that spans 20 years. His previous experience includes public and private organizations working as an IT security auditor of the national electrical grid, an intelligence analyst focusing on the impact of cyber threats to Minnesota government and critical infrastructure and information security positions with internet and communications companies based in Minnesota and Arizona.
Associate Vice President
Brian Eck is the Associate Vice President, Sales for UCare, a nonprofit health plan based in Minneapolis with operations in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Brian has worked with the federal Medicare Advantage program since 1998 at health plans in Minnesota and Wisconsin and has built and managed independent broker networks for small and large group, Medicare, and individual health insurance products. Prior to entering the insurance field, he developed and taught the nation’s first collegiate degree program in applied direct marketing applications. Brian has been a featured speaker at both national and regional events and conferences on a variety of health insurance topics including product development, compensation programs, sales and management techniques, and the federal Medicare Marketing Guidelines.
Vice President, Pharmacy
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota
As Vice President of Pharmacy, Randy Hanna is responsible for leading Blue Cross’ pharmacy program, which includes management of both pharmacy and medical/specialty benefits.In this role, he works with Prime Therapeutics (Blue Cross’ pharmacy benefits manager) to develop and execute a comprehensive pharmacy strategy focused on delivering quality care, improved outcomes and effectively managing cost of care for all pharmacy segments. Hanna has nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare and managed care industries with proven success in retail pharmacy as well as health plan and prescription benefit management organizations. Prior to joining Blue Cross, Hanna held executive leadership roles at Target, Prime Therapeutics and HealthPlus of Michigan.
Vice President of Public Affairs
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota
As vice president of public affairs, Scott Keefer leads Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota’s engagement with key stakeholders, including outreach to state and federal legislative and executive branch officials, thought leaders and interest groups. He is responsible for developing integrated public affairs strategies to influence public policy, build a strong reputation and advance the organization’s mission of making a healthy difference in people’s lives. Keefer joined Blue Cross in 2010 after working on public policy and health care for 15 years in Washington, D.C. He served most recently as vice president for policy at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). In that role, Keefer led AHIP’s efforts to shape health care reform in Congress, playing a key role in translating insurance market regulation into public policy. Keefer also worked as a congressional staffer for 10 years, including as the legislative director for U.S. Representative Harold Ford, Jr., and served in several health-related positions in both the private and public sectors.

Anne Larsen, Director National Accounts has been with Further for two years and in the health insurance industry for more than fifteen years. As a leader at Further, Anne leads account management and sales support to strategically grow and retain business in the large and small group market segments. Anne brings to her position many years of industry knowledge and expertise in the spending account and health insurance areas as well as a passion for helping others find their professional successes.
Angie provides her large groups and key accounts with strategic consultation and account management that drives successful implementations, optimal plan designs and increased employee engagement. She brings well rounded experience from operations, customer service, training and new sales to her role as account executive. Angie has been working in spending and savings account administration since 2005. Her office is located at our Minnesota corporate headquarters.
Vice President, Public Policy & Government Relations
Jay McLaren has 19 years of experience in health care policy and federal and state government relations in Minnesota. For the last 10 years, McLaren has worked on the government relations and public policy team at Medica. During this time, his accomplishments include advocating for changes to the Affordable Care Act, working with Congress to enact changes to Medicare Cost plans, lobbying to enact a bill to stabilize Minnesota’s individual health insurance market, and advocating to preserve Iowa’s individual health insurance market. Prior to Medica, McLaren was a Government Affairs Manager at Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical, which has since been acquired by Merck. Previously, McLaren worked on health policy at the State of Minnesota in several positions in the executive and legislative branches of state government – Director of Legislative Policy at the Minnesota Department of Health, Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Tim Pawlenty, and Committee Administrator to the House Health and Human Services Committee. McLaren received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University.

Mitchell has significant experience in health care, most recently as Associate Vice President of Government Contracts for Molina Healthcare of South Carolina. She has also worked in leadership roles at CIGNA’s Healthspring, Avesis, and Infectious Disease Solutions. Nichole received her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Clayton State University where she also received her BS degree in Healthcare Management. As the pharmacist director of the self-insured business segment, Kirsten Tiberg oversees the pharmacy strategies of the Commercial business segment as well as provides clinical expertise, consultation and support to the Health Services division of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. Kirsten has been in the healthcare management industry for over 20 years. Kirsten joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota in 2016. Prior to joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, she spent over 12 years at Prime Therapeutics where her experiences included oversight of specialty clinical program development, utilization management program development and maintenance and clinical program development. Kirsten also worked for Aetna Pharmacy Management, MedAdvisor and PCSHealthsystems managing various aspects of manufacturer relations, sales, account management, product development and oversight of utilization management.
